Before joining Hosting Australia Group, Ben served as the Office and Marketing Manager at GAMEREC Services & Andrew Malouf Entertainment from 2007 to 2010. There, he honed his skills in customer service, strategic marketing, and system management. He revamped the booking system, automated tasks, and expanded the client base through targeted marketing campaigns. In his role as Communications Manager at Cotton On Clothing from 2005 to 2006, Ben provided vital support to stores across Australia. He managed various projects, provided IT support, and educated team members on using software packages effectively. His role encompassed providing phone and onsite support, managing projects and reporting to the management team, offering IT support, training store team members, liaising with contractors, and managing project timelines.
At the Department of Defence from 2003 to 2005, Ben served as a Network Administrator, handling network faults, IT support, and contractor coordination. He maintained the asset database and provided desktop support for various software packages. His key responsibilities included responding to client queries and network issues, acting as a help desk liaison for IT faults, managing user accounts and network administration, and installing operating systems and software packages.
As a Senior Team Leader for the NT LATIS Project at the Department of Education from 2002 to 2003, Ben led a significant project overseeing the installation of 4000 PCs across Darwin and the NT. He coordinated staffing, managed budgets, and ensured project targets were met. His responsibilities included planning and executing PC installations, coordinating staff and managing project budgets, providing training and support to educational staff, and troubleshooting network and hardware faults.
Starting his career at Deakin University from 1997 to 2002 as a Network Support Officer, Ben worked on troubleshooting network faults and managing data and voice point installations. He provided desktop support and managed network administration tasks. His role involved troubleshooting network and phone system issues, installing new network data points and switches, providing help desk support, user management, and coordinating with contractors and arranging job quotations.
